Easy Glitter Ornaments

This might be the easiest ornament ever, and really fast to create – the Cupcake loved to make these — duh they have GLITTER — and they turned out gorgeous! (POPCS teachers, SPOILER ALERT)

Here’s what you need on making this Easy Glitter Ornaments:

Clear shatterproof glass ornaments
Martha Stewart glitter (you could use any glitter, we are partial to Martha in our house. 🙂
Rhinestone sticker
Pledge Clean & Shine Multi-Purpose Floor Cleaner

Here’s what you do:

1. Take the metal top off the ornament

2. Pour in some Pledge in the top. Enough to swirl around and cover all the inside surfaces of the ornament. Do not shake, you don’t want bubbles.

3. Pour it back into the Pledge bottle.

4. Shake some glitter inside the ornament, enough to coat the inside. Shake it all around to cover all the inside surface.

5. Pour out the excess glitter.

6. Put the top of the ornament back on. You can glue it if you like.

7. Affix your rhinestone sticker to one or both sides of the ornament – or any other stickers or rub ons. We got a little assortment of different rhinestones and snowflakes, glitter gumdrops, etc.  (I’m sorry I don’t have the photos of the other ornaments, I’ll post them later.)

I think it would be cute if you added a little pearl bead fob to the top of the ornament. Or a ribbon bow like on the peppermint ornaments/ we made earlier this week. If we have time, we’ll do that too.

This was a perfect project for a preschooler – pour, shake, dump, sticker. Repeat.

If you’re planning on making these glitter ornaments, run to Michaels and get the shatterproof ornaments. I checked two stores and they were sold out of the plain ones. Next year we’ll definitely stock up on these. They are gorgeous!
