Elf on a Shelf: Day 21

I love it when you share!

Mommy has been working late every night and adding this Elf on a Shelf on top of it is starting to take it’s toll. I’ll admit it. Mommy is tired.

But that’s okay, the worst of the Christmas crunch is over now. This was the first morning in I don’t know how long that I got to sleep in. I’d been looking forward to this morning for weeks.

Which is a relative term, “sleep in” when you have a pug standing on your chest at 6:45 a.m. and actually licked my lips to try and wake me up to feed him. Rude.

No I didn’t get up then. I shoved him off of me and fell back to sleep.

Not five minutes later, my left eyelid was literally pried open by three year old fingers. I didn’t even know she was in bed with me. Thank God she was gentle. I was fully awake and aware after that and I sure as hell didn’t dare fall back asleep. No telling what these hooligans had in store for me next.

Well there must be something going around because when we came downstairs, we found Chintz had emptied our Tupperware cabinet and made himself a sick bay. Seems as though he was feeling a bit under the weather. I suppose all that flying back and forth to the North Pole for his Elf on a Shelf assignment has finally caught up with him.

I wish I had thought to hide in a cabinet. I might still be sleeping.

The Cupcake had some funny commentary when she saw Chitz fast asleep with his collection of cold remedies:

“But Mom, Chintz is going to get my doll bed all dirty when he throws up.”

“I’m gonna have to get my Tylenol back when my leg hurts.”

“I’m just going to wash my doll bed when someone throws up on it. “

“But Mom, that ‘stesoscope’ is to big for that bunny.” (It’s the Easter Bunny, get it? LOL)

Don’t know the Elf on a Shelf story? Seems that Santa has a crew of “scout elves” that he sends to little girls and boys. Upon receipt, the elf must be named to receive his magic. Once named, he begins his Elf on a Shelf duties which means he’s watching all day and night to see if your kiddo has been good or bad. Then he uses his elf magic to fly back to the North Pole at night and report to Santa. The elf returns the same night and usually lands in a new place – which creates a game of hide and seek each morning for the children. SOME elves are mischievous and get into all types of antics during their free time at night. It’s always fun to see what the Elf on a Shelf has done the next morning.

See the rest of our Elf on a Shelf mischief.
